Magaluf Practical Information & Advice

Magaluf, also know as Magalluf, is one of the major holiday resorts located in the southwest coast of the island Majorca in Spain, at the western end of Palma Bay.

Location
South-western Island of Majorca, Balearic Islands, on eastern Spain

Getting There
The Son Sant Joan Airport of Majorca is located about eight kilometres from the capital Palma. Direct and connecting flights, scheduled and charter, link Palma with all main European destinations. There are many flights to Mallorca from the United Kingdom and Germany all year round. There are also daily scheduled domestic flights to Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Alicante, as well as to other cities around Spain. Buses leave the airport for the city centre (Plaza de Espa˝a) every 15 minutes, and from here, buses can then be taken to other points and towns on the island. At the airport, there is a permanent taxi rank and a number of car-rental agencies. The easiest way to transfer and go to Magaluf is by taxi and the approximate cost is around 38-40 euros and it takes around 15-20 minutes from Palma Son Sant Joan Airport.

Weather
Magaluf weather is excellent. Magaluf has great Mediterranean weather that is very suitable for summer and beach holidays in Europe and in Spain. With an average temperature of 31 degrees, Magaluf is the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine and summer holidays.

Tipping
As service charge is already included in prices and on bills and invoices, tipping is not regarded as obligatory. Nevertheless, tips are usually left if the service received has been very satisfactory especially in the bars and restaurants in Magaluf. 

 
 

Buses
The buses operating from Magalluf/Palma Nova to Palma include; number 104, 105, 106 and 107. Number 104 and 109 goes to Santa Ponsa and Paguera.

Markets
The closest markets to Magalluf are in Calvia (on Mondays), Galatzo (on Tuesdays) and Andraitx (on Wednesdays). Also there is a street market in Palma on Saturday mornings.
